Don't Call Salt Lake Mayor 'Rocky II'

Mayor Rocky Anderson has notified Metro Goldwyn Mayer-United Artists that he'll quit using the tag "Rocky II" on re-election campaign literature and advertisements
Mayor challenger Frank Pignanelli's campaign manager, Dallis Nordstrom, in July called an MGM trademark lawyer to alert him that Anderson was using the title of the 1979 film, starring Sylvester Stallone, in his campaign
Anderson said use of the slogan was meant to be temporary and that his letter to Moore had solved the trademark issue
Also, the campaign has discontinued production of bumper stickers with the "Rocky II" slogan
In a letter sent Friday to trademark lawyer Michael Moore, Anderson noted his campaign is taking the "Rocky II" slogan off a digital billboard in Salt Lake City
