In Iran, people gather before the Persian New Years to celebrate Chaharshanbeh Suri, or Red Wednesday. In this ancient Persian tradition, people jump over a series of flames, asking the fire to take away their sickness and misfortune and provide them with health and happiness for the upcoming year.
Sholeh, 9, lives in the US with her ailing mother. She has never performed this celebration, until this year, where she is determined to celebrate in the hopes of curing her mother.
This is a self-response notification (SRN).
