Accusing the Princess Diana memorial fund of waging a "very nasty PR campaign," the Franklin Mint said Saturday that any money it wins in its lawsuit against the charity will go toward causes the princess championed radio "
The comments by a spokesman for the American collectables maker came after the top administrator of the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund said Friday that financial problems linked to a dispute with the Franklin Mint had forced the charity to stop supporting groups â€â€? including those working with land mine victims and AIDS sufferers
"They have been fighting us for six years, they have lost at every stage throughout that six years," the Franklin Mint's Britain spokesman Steven Locke told British Broadcasting Corp
The fund and executors of the princess's estate sued the Franklin Mint in 1998 over a "Limited Edition Commemorative Plate" sold shortly after Diana's death in 1997 "Just because the Diana fund is a charity, that does not excuse it from extremely bad behavior
"They have also waged a very nasty PR campaign against us, and we think they should be held accountable," he said
