If the "La Mancha" journey is an adventure, it's a comfortable one for Mazzie and Mitchell, who arrives bearing a bag of chocolates and then proceeds to sprawl on his co-star's dressing-room sofa
The genial Mitchell plays Don Quixote, that perpetual pursuer of "The Impossible Dream
"Creatively, it was magical," recalled Mitchell as he quickly went down a list of everyone from the director (Frank Galati) to the songwriters (Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty) who made the show possible
"They trust each other," said Lawrence Mitchell portrayed budding revolutionary Coalhouse Walker; Mazzie played Mother, a character also on the edge of turning her world upside down

Mitchell and Mazzie work well together because they are the type of musical-theater stars you don't see very often any more, according to Lawrence With his dark, matinee-idol good looks and booming voice, Mitchell is a throwback to the days of such great Broadway leading men as Alfred Drake, John Raitt and Richard Kiley, the original "Man of La Mancha
"Besides Stokes (which is what Mitchell's friends call him), I knew the crew and several other performers in the cast," Mazzie said L
